Abuja Almat team has won the Majekodunmi Cup in first attempt at the GTB 2019 Lagos International Polo Tournament.
The GTB 2019 Lagos International Polo Tournament pitched over 34 polo teams and top Nigerian and foreign players with highpoints both on and off the pitch. One such glittering highlight was the final game that decided the winners of the event’s biggest prize and Nigeria’s oldest polo trophy, the Independence Cup.

Adeagbo Simidele, the Nigerian Olympian, sports advocate and entrepreneur is among the 16 women and men who have been selected as 2019 World Fellow at Yale University.
Adeagbo Simidele, represented Nigeria in Skeleton racing at the 2018 Winter Olympics, becoming the first person to do so.
This cohort brings the total number of World Fellows since the program’s start in 2002 to 346 Fellows, representing 91 countries. This year marks the 18th cohort of World Fellows.

Ayo Dada and Olamide Oladeji were among the 69 scholars that won the Knight-Hennessy scholarship at Stanford University for the year 2019.
The Knight-Hennessy scholarship is poised to develop both the depth and range of subject expertise to confront the numerous grand challenges and opportunities of the future. Knight-Hennessy Scholars receive full funding to pursue graduate study at Stanford. Ayo Dada and Olamide Oladeji both join Solomon Oyakhire, an alumnus of the University of Lagos, who was the only Nigerian recipient of the scholarship in the first edition in 2018 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering.
