Mercy Ntia-Obong Helps Set New School Record At All-Kansas Invite [2021]

Mercy Ntia-Obong has emerged winner in the 60 meters and 200 meters races at the All-Kansas Invite, where she represented her school, Cloud County Community College, on January 23, 2021.

Mercy Ntia-Obong took part in three of her school’s five victories at the event, and set one of the two national qualifying marks.

Ntia-Obong ran a time of 7.74 seconds, a national qualifying time in the 60 meters preliminary stages, ahead of her teammate, Isila Apkup (7.80 seconds) and Fort Hays’ Holman Lyric (7.81 seconds).

She replicated her impressive form in the 200 meters, finishing with a time of 24.14 seconds, ahead of Apkup, who came second in 25.07 seconds, while Sinegal Trinity from Fort Scott County placed third in 25.12 seconds.

Ntia-Obong also helped set a new school record in the 4×400 meters relays with Leonie Beu, Isila Apkup, and Pamela Milano (3:50.61 seconds).
