Ossaiugbo Marcus Ifeanyi Emerges Best Graduating Student At Delta State University (DELSU)

Delta State University (DELSU) best graduating student, Ossaiugbo Marcus Ifeanyi, with 4.86 CGPA, offered automatic employment by the state government.

Vice Chancellor, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Professor Victor Peretomode, said 24 students of the University bagged first class degree at its 10th Convocation. The Vice Chancellor said this in his address at the convocation arena in Abraka.

According to the Professor Peretomode, a total of 5,811 students graduated under its Bachelor degree programs in the 2014/2015 session of the university. He added that 24 graduates got first class, 1,123 bagged second class upper, while 3,222 obtained second class lower division, among others in the first degree program. He noted that the university in the session produced, 47 Ph.Ds, 431 Masters, 243 Post Graduate Diploma and 485 with Diploma certificates.

Peretomode said that the students were found worthy in both character and learning and enjoined them to explore the economic environment as good ambassadors of the university. He commended the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa “for his continued support, especially for releasing the sum of 200 million for accreditation purposes.”

He said that the university had obtained 93 percent accreditation for its programs but called for improved funding to enable it to meet it’s infrastructure needs.

The overall best graduating first degree student, Mr. Ossaiugbo Marcus Ifeanyi of Department of Mathematics obtained First Class Honors with 4.86 Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA) was offered automatic employment and Postgraduate scholarship up to Ph.D level.
