The idea for TenderDexta was born from direct encounters with thousands of job seekers. Initially, we set out to build a corporate training solution and participated in a job fair to partner with companies. However, the experience shifted our perspective: rather than companies, it was the job seekers who crowded our stand, seeking opportunities, guidance, and skills.
We discovered a painful reality: many graduates, even years after leaving tertiary institutions, lacked the industry-relevant skills to stand out in the job market. Others had skills but did not know how to present themselves to employers.
This was not an isolated issue. In Nigeria, the most populous Black nation, the challenge is systemic. With a population of over 220 million and a median age of just 18, Nigeria should be well-positioned as a future global workforce. Yet, the country faces one of the world’s highest youth unemployment rates. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, over 40% of young people are unemployed or underemployed. Each year, more than 600,000 students graduate from Nigeria’s universities and polytechnics, but too few transition into gainful employment. This mismatch between education and employability is a growing crisis.
An idle, youthful population without economic value is a recipe for instability, and rising insecurity in the country already reflects this. For us, this was a call to action.
We realized that solving this problem requires more than just training, it requires community, access to learning resources, and mentorship. That insight birthed the improved version of TenderDexta, a community-based educational platform that equips youth with industry-relevant skills, connects them with mentors, and prepares them for both local and global opportunities.

What Keeps Fueling Our Passion
“My journey began with TenderDexta’s Virtual Assistant Training, which was incredibly detailed and practical. This led to an amazing internship at Blumefy, a fintech Company, where I applied my new skills and gained hands-on experience. The best part? I was retained after my internship! I’m so grateful to
TenderDexta for the knowledge and guidance that boosted my confidence and career. I highly recommend them to anyone aspiring to be a Virtual Assistant.”
That was a review from Fadekemi Eyebiokin, who now works full-time with Blumefy, a fast-growing tech startup.
But it is not just Fadekemi’s story. It is Ruth’s. It is Bareca’s. It is Julianah’s. It is the stories of the many young people we have worked with in the past ten (10) months: youth who came in uncertain about their career prospects and left with skills, confidence, community and real opportunities.
These success stories are what keep us going. They remind us that our vision to build at scale is not just possible, it is already happening, one life at a time.
