Abeokuta, Nigeria — Access Network Services Limited has announced plans to begin feasibility studies and stakeholder consultations for its proposed Kobape New-City Development, a major urban initiative designed to shape Kobape into a modern, integrated living and business hub.

According to Dr. Adedayo George, Chief Executive Officer of Access Network Services Limited, the company’s vision is to create a well-planned urban ecosystem that blends residential, commercial, and infrastructural growth.
In his words:
“Kobape is emerging as a corridor where residential life, business, and investment can intersect,” We are preparing feasibility work and engaging local leaders, landowners, traditional rulers, and the public. This is how we will shape what Kobape becomes.”
Located just ten minutes from the Governor’s office along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway, Kobape is fast developing as a growth zone, supported by ongoing construction projects, including a government-backed housing estate. Rather than focusing solely on buildings, the company’s goal is to provide critical supporting infrastructure — such as road networks, drainage systems, power reliability, and public open spaces.
“What we want is not standalone structures but an environment where you can live, work, shop, and rest. It must feel like a city that functions,” Dr. George added.
With growing demand for modern urban amenities in Abeokuta and the area’s proximity to Lagos, Kobape is becoming a logical candidate for structured, sustainable development. The company plans to commence formal feasibility work in the coming weeks, working hand-in-hand with community heads, real estate investors, and government agencies.
“Displacement is not our agenda — collaboration is,” Dr. George emphasized.
Dr. George highlighted that the project’s early stage offers investment opportunities across multiple sectors — real estate development, retail, recreation, and light industry clusters.
“Kobape is more than a housing estate; it’s an urban spine in the making,” he said.
Access Network Services Limited will also conduct consultations with traditional rulers and local councils to ensure that land use, heritage, and cultural identity are respected throughout the development process.
““Community input can’t be an afterthought,” Dr. George noted. “We intend to match modern urban planning with local respect and need.”
The initiative is expected to deliver significant economic benefits, including job creation in construction, maintenance, retail, and services, as well as opportunities for business expansion and public-private collaboration.
Environmental sustainability will also be central to the project’s design, with plans to integrate green spaces, efficient drainage, and stormwater management systems.
“We hope that our project becomes a reference point for how new communities should be built in Ogun State,” Dr. George said.
As stakeholder engagements begin, Access Network Services Limited aims to align the project with both state and local development plans. Outcomes from this phase will guide timelines for construction, infrastructure rollout, and eventual occupancy.
