Olowo John of OhRich Nigeria has emerged winner of the 2020 Aspiring Entrepreneurs Programme (AEP) for Nigerian Agribusiness entrepreneurs organised by FATE Foundation, in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation Nigeria Limited.

Olowo John received a prize of ₦500,000, followed by Ante Joseph of Maatalous Nasah who came in second and got ₦200,000 and Ronke Aderinoye of Agrinerve Ventures who came in third and won ₦150,000.

The AEP promotes access to finance and enhances financial inclusion, two key elements in business and economic growth.

Funmi Adewara has emerged winner of the World Bank SDGs & Her Global Competition Award 2020 for Women Entrepreneurs.

Seven winners were selected from a pool of 2,400 applicants from around the world who took part in the competition.

Other winners include Annisa Hasanah Ashyad of Ecofun Indonesia; Bassma Ali of G-Gateway; Kayumba Chiwele of PyscHealth Zambia; Melina Taprant of Wise Greece; Marysela Zamora of Nosotras; and Maliha Khalid of Doctory.

Five winners have emerged in the British Council’s Creative Enterprise Support Programme [2020].

The winners selected were: Cherish Ibeh of Cher Stunner; Vivian Ogbuagu of Handsmithen; Anthony Sule of Antoine Collections; Misan Atsemude of Omali Bridals and Mabel Sontan of Adire Biz Hub.

Each of the winners receive £2,000 each in grant funding and mentorship with key fashion industry players.

ColdHubs has won the FCMB Agritech EPIC Pitch 2020 competition, receiving one million Naira in prize money as well as access to workspace and networks for innovation and collaboration.

Nigeria’s First City Monument Bank (FCMB) had partnered Passion Incubator to launch the third edition of the competition, setting aside NGN 1.5 million to support the top two startups in the programme.

Other benefits for winners include: mentor support, workspace, and access to market and networks, while entrepreneurs will also have access to Passion Incubator’s resources, partner organisation support, and business development services.
