Nnadozie Chiamaka Crowned Goalkeeper Of 2023/2024 Season In France At D1 Arkema Awards

Super Falcons and Paris FC goalkeeper, Nnadozie Chiamaka, has been crowned the goalkeeper of the 2023/2024 season in France at the D1 Arkema Awards.

D1 Arkema is the top division of the women’s league in France.

She triumphed over legendary Lyon and Chile goalkeeper, Christiane Endler and the Polish number one goalkeeper to win the award.

Receiving the award, Nnadozie Chiamaka stated:

“Grateful and excited to have won the French D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year. A big thanks to everyone who voted for me and also a Special appreciation to my coaches and teammates for all the support and encouragement, it wouldn’t have been possible without you all. Oyinlomo Quadre Wins 2024 Conference USA Women’s Tennis Title

Oyinlomo Quadre of Florida International University has retained and won the 2024 Conference USA Women’s Tennis title.

The African Games silver medalist who has been in a brilliant form since recovering from the illness that slowed her down in Ghana won the match that confirmed FIU Women’s Tennis as the champions of the C-USA.

This win means Quadre and her colleagues have now won the title for the second consecutive year after the former Nigerian number one led them to the title on 2023, on her way to winning multiple awards as well.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced Nigeria as the African regional winner of the 2023 ICC Development Award.

The world cricket governing body made this known in a statement on April 25, 2024 when it released the regional winners of the 2023 edition of the awards.

Nigeria Para Badminton player, Mariam Bolaji has won a gold medal to make history at the Spanish Para Badminton International 2024 Level 1 tournament in Toledo, Spain.

Bolaji beat World number 5 Mandeep Kaur from India 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) to clinch the Gold medal and remain unbeaten in two Spanish Internationals in one week.

Odunayo Adekuoroye, an Olympian, is now ranked number one globally in the 57 kg category with 49000 points, according to United World Wrestling‘s latest rankings (March 2024).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that her performance in wrestling at the 2024 African Games in Ghana earned her the position.
