Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress have secured a historic first-ever win in the FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup by defeating China.
Junior D’Tigress defeated China 93-88 in their tournament opener in Brno, Czech Republic.
The odds appeared to be against the Nigerian princesses but that did not deter them from securing a historic triumph over their Chinese counterparts.
25 points from Nora Ezike against China, with 16 of those coming in the fourth quarter of the game helped the young D’Tigress to secure victory.
Idubamo Beg who had 18 points, Tobenna Nweke (15 points) and Jessica Ajayi (10 points) finished with double-digits points.
