Nigerian Public Alert 70: NAFDAC Notifies on Counterfeit Brands of Proguanil (Projeanil and Re-granil) Tablet B.P 100mg with Fake NAFDAC Registration Number (04-6433) found in Nigeria

Nigerian Public Alert 70: The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is informing healthcare professionals and the general public of the circulation of counterfeit brands of Proguanil tablets, specifically Projeanil and Re-granil, both at 100 mg B.P.

The NAFDAC Registration Number (NRN) 04-6433 displayed on the products belongs to a different registered product Feroglobin B12 Capsules by Vitabiotics Nigeria. This finding raises serious concerns regarding the circulation of counterfeit products in the market.

Proguanil is an antimalarial medication, commonly used in combination with atovaquone (Malarone) or chloroquine to prevent and treat malaria, particularly Plasmodium falciparum.
