Warri Wolves have been crowned champions of the 2024/25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The team, coached by Napoleon Aloma, defeated Wikki Tourists 3-2 in the final match of the Super 8 playoffs. The game was played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
The Delta-based side started strong and scored three goals within the first 25 minutes.
Yusuf Abdullateef opened the scoring in the 7th minute. He then assisted Igbunu Evwierhurhoma for the second goal nine minutes later.
Joshua Shemaye added the third goal in the 25th minute to give Warri Wolves a 3-0 lead.
Wikki Tourists fought back, with Mamuda Aliyu scoring ten minutes before halftime. Wonderson Yakubu scored again for Wikki one minute before the 60th minute.
Despite Wikki’s comeback efforts, Warri Wolves held on to win the match and secure the NNL title.
