2025 Game On Afrika Tournament: Team Nigeria Emerge Winner

Team Nigeria has emerged champions of the Pan-African 2025 Game On Afrika Tournament after a dramatic 1–1 draw and a 4–2 penalty shootout victory over Ghana at the Madina Zongo pitch in Accra.

The tightly contested clash between Nigeria Selected and Ghana Selected lived up to expectations, delivering intensity, quality football, and a nail-biting finish.

Nigeria took the lead in the 40th minute, but Ghana responded swiftly, equalizing before the halftime whistle.

The second half saw both sides show strong defensive discipline, with no further goals scored, sending the match into penalties.

Nigeria held their nerve from the spot, converting four of their kicks to seal the win.

The coach of the Nigeria G.O.A.T, Coach Felix Ifeanyi Nwosu aka Abacha expressed immense joy after the triumph, describing the victory as special and hard-earned, stating:

“I feel so excited… Winning a Pan-African tournament away from home is not an easy task. Thanks to the organisers.”

This continental title comes just two weeks after coach Felix Ifeanyi Nwosu Abacha led Enugu GOAT to win the Nigerian edition and crowned champions of the Nigeria edition of the Game On Afrika Tournament, defeating Imo GOAT 5–4 on penalties in another thrilling finale.

In Ghana, the Great Accra Region team had earlier won the Ghana GOAT title, setting the stage for the cross-border showdown that Nigeria ultimately won.

The 2025 Game On Afrika Tournament victory marks a significant moment for Nigerian grassroots and developmental football, showcasing rising talent and competitive spirit across the continent.
