Abdulbasit Abdulfatai and Hope Udoaka have emerged winners in the men’s and women’s singles categories of the fifth Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial National Table Tennis Championships, held in Otan Ayegbaju, Osun State.
In the men’s singles final, Abdulbasit Abdulfatai showcased his exceptional technique and tactical prowess, dominating Matthew Fabunmi 4-0 (12-10, 11-4, 11-4, 11-7). This impressive victory marked a significant milestone for Kwara State, highlighting the state’s growing prominence in Nigerian table tennis.
The women’s singles final saw Udoaka outclassing veteran Halima Hussain of Oyo State 4-1 (11-5, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7). Udoaka’s victory was a testament to her hard work, dedication, and exceptional skill, solidifying her position as one of the top players in the country.
