Indicator: Accreditation report by the National Universities Commission of Nigeria (NUC).

This factor takes into consideration the qualifying elements for the course of mass communication: library strength; physical and technological infrastructure; number and quality of relevant staff; etc.

Thus, in this assessment of recommended universities (undergraduate), only universities with full accreditation (not interim or denied) have been provided.

Indicator: The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021.

This factor takes into consideration the ranking of the best universities in Nigeria offering mass commmunication: Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry income (knowledge transfer).

Thus, in this assessment of recommended universities, only the best universities in Nigeria according to the THE World University ranking are featured.

The recommended Nigerian universities have also been listed in the order of their performance in the The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021.

This factor will be recorded as “Available”, “Good” and “Excellent” accordingly.
