Adaobi Tabugbo has clocked a time of 12.90 seconds (3.0) to win the women’s 100 meters hurdles event at the 2025 Grande Premio Brasil de Atletismo in Sao Paulo.

She won ahead of Ketiley Batista who ran 13.00 seconds and Vitoria Batista in 13.02 seconds.

2025 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships: Abdul Jabar Adama Becomes First Nigerian To Win A Medal At The Competition

Abdul Jabar Adama has become the first ever Nigerian swimmer to win a medal at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships held in Romania.

The 17-year-old won a silver medal in the men’s 50 meters butterfly, clocking 23.64 seconds to finish behind Great Britain’s Dean Fearn who won gold with 23.54 seconds.

He broke two Nigerian Records in one day en route winning a historic medal. Coming into the championships, his Nigerian record stood at 23.81 seconds, lowering it to 23.61 seconds in the prelims, and then clocking 23.48 seconds in the semis. 

2025 Diamond League: Ezekiel Nathaniel Wins Men’s 400 Meters Hurdles Event

Ezekiel Nathaniel has won the 2025 Diamond League competition in the men’s 400 meters hurdles in Lausanne – his first victory at the competition.

Nathaniel clocked a time of 48.08 seconds, holding off USA’s Trevor Bassit who ran an equal Season’s Best of 48.14 seconds to finish second, with Slovakia’s Matic Ian Gucek coming third in 49.23 seconds.

2025 Oklahoma Throws Series: Obiageri Amaechi Wins Women’s Discus Throw Event

Obiageri Amaechi has recorded a personal best of 64.80 meters to win the women’s Discus Throw event at the 2025 Oklahoma Throws Series in Ramona.

She added almost two metres to her personal best, surpassing the World Championship qualifying standard of 64.50 meters.

Amaechi is now the second best African thrower all-time, only behind Chioma Onyekwere-Lyons who holds the African Record (64.96 meters). She is also the best Discus Thrower in Africa this year.
