Obiageli Solaja Wins Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) 2019 African Women In Badminton Award

Obiageli Solaja has been awarded the 2019 African Women in Badminton Award by the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA).

Obiageli Solaja becomes the second recipient of the award, following that of Gretha Prinsloo of South Africa who received the 2018 award last year during the BCA Annual General Meeting in Nanning China.

The honour will be bestowed at the BCA Annual General Meeting 2020 at a date to be fixed later due to the current COVID-19 global pandemic.

Naomi Adeoyin Oyinloye Upgraded To Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) Certificated Umpire Status

Naomi Adeoyin Oyinloye, a badminton technical official has been upgraded to a Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) Certificated Umpire status.

This lift for Naomi Adeoyin Oyinloye followed her success at the BCA Umpires Assessment, which took place in Casablanca, Morocco during the African Games in August, 2019.

The last time Nigerian Umpires were upgraded by the BCA was 20 years ago in the year 2000 at the All Africa Senior Championships in Bauchi where a group of five were certificated.

Nkechi Alexandra Kingsley has emerged as the overall best graduating student at the 27th Convocation ceremony at the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH).

The ceremony was held at the Convocation Ground on the main campus of the institution in Ikorodu on March 12, 2020.

Nkechi Alexandra Kingsley of the Department of Chemical Engineering, graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.93 on a scale of 4.0.
