Wallet.ng Emerge 2nd Runner-up Of 2018 Ecobank Fintech Challenge

Nala, Virtual Identity and Wallet.ng have emerged winners of the 2018 Ecobank Fintech Challenge at a ceremony held in Lome, Togo.

Nala, based in Tanzania, a mobile money application that works offline, beat the ten other finalists to emerge as the winner of the competition. Virtual Identity from South Africa and Wallet.ng from Nigeria emerged first and second runners-up.

The three startups won cash prizes worth $10,0000, $7,000 and $5,000 respectively.

RecyclePoints Emerge Top 3 Winner Of 2018 Zambezi Prize For Innovation In Financial Inclusion

South Africa’s Wala, Nigeria’s RecyclePoints and Kenya’s Tulaa have emerged top three winners in the 2018 Zambezi Prize for innovation in financial inclusion.

The award was organised by the Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with support from the Mastercard Foundation.

Ayodeji Odeleye Wins NIM 2018 Young Managers Competition

The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) has declared Ayodeji Odeleye, an Estate Surveyor, as the winner of its 2018 Edition of Young Managers Competition (YMC) held in Lagos.

The five finalists were Ayodeji Odeleye (Winner), Iyeku Akinwale (first Runner up), Caleb Eke (Second Runner up), Ibidunni Lawani (Third Runner up) and Akinkunmi Elizabeth (Fourth Runner).

The star prize for the winner is a prize of 1.5 million, while the first, second and the third runners up were rewarded with 800,000, 500,000 and 200,000 worth of management training at NIM Headquarters respectively.
