Oyo State pupils have emerged winners of the 60th Primary Schools national quiz competition organised by Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) held at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education in Kano.

In the primary school quiz category, sub-divided into oral and written tests, Oyo State representatives, Busura Busari, Fawaz Ibrahim, Toluwani Adeeko and Bayaky Nadia, scored 129 points to emerge, winners, beating Ondo State to the second position with 113 points.

A team of three students from Bowen University, Osun State, have emerged the overall winner of the 2019 Nigeria Universities Programming Contest (NUCPC) ahead of 15 other teams.

The winning team, along with three others that came second, third and fourth, will represent Nigeria at the next level of the contest – the Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship (ACPC).

27-year-old Adedapo Adeniruju has emerged overall winner of the second edition of the UNICAF Essay Competition and rewarded with a full online UNICAF scholarship for a Master’s degree and a laptop.

Victor Nwachukwu, a 25-year-old graduate of Civil Engineering came second and was rewarded with a tablet and a monetary prize of $500, while 22-year-old Asiboje Esereosonobrugwe, came third.

Agaranwa Pal Ezinne, has emerged the overall best graduating female student with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from the Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), Ghana.

Agaranwa Pal Ezinne, who was part of the graduation class of 2019, beat her colleagues with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.97.

The 14th graduation ceremony is the fifth time a Nigerian student would emerge as the overall best graduating student of the university both in the female and male categories.
