Ediomo Akpan has emerged winner of Season 2 of Hymnodia 2020 receiving the grand prize of an Asaph (a specially designed award named after David’s chief musician), a brand-new car and 5 million.

Hymnodia Season 2, the triple E: Entertainment, Education and Edification, reality TV show is built around hymns and worship.

The grand finale, known as Hymncert, was held on September 13, 2020 in Lagos.

Nine Nigerians have emerged recipients of the 2020 The Diana Award, which celebrates outstanding young people selflessly creating and sustaining positive social change.

The Diana Award was established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales for young persons aged 9-25 years for their social action or humanitarian work through a retrospective nomination process only.

Young people as recipients of the 2020 The Diana Award do not work towards the award, rather they demonstrate their suitability through their actions, without any expectation of reward.

Francis Erhabor Emerges Accountability Lab 2019 Lead Integrity Icon

Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mr. Francis Erhabor has emerged the lead Integrity Icon of 2019 in a workplace honesty survey conducted by the Accountability Lab Nigeria, an organisation committed to “naming and faming” honest government officials in Nigeria.

Other icons honoured at the award event, which held on 21 January 2020 in Abuja were: Kacheilom Betram Roberts-Ndukwe, a teacher at GSS Andoni in Rivers state; Tina Odinakachi Iirmdu, a lecturer at the University of Jos; Christian Ahiauzu, an ICT unit head at the University of Port Harcourt; and Tani Ali Nimlan, an assistant director at NAFDAC.

Runcie Chidebe Awarded 2020 IVLP Alumni Award for Social Innovation And Change

Runcie Chidebe has emerged recipient of the 2020 Global Ties U.S. International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Alumni Award for Social Innovation and Change.

Runcie is a health advocate, civil society activist, and a leading voice in making cancer control a national health priority in Nigeria. His many accomplishments include launching trainings for oncology care, volunteer mentorships, establishing breast cancer support groups, and advocating for improved cancer care and mandatory health insurance. He also led campaigns to establish the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment through an act of the Nigerian Parliament, and sits on several committees to ensure its implementation, as well as other programs for cancer prevention.

Bashir Umar, Murtala Aliyu Ibrahim, Dr. Kadiri Kehinde and Agba Jalingo have emerged winners in the 2019 Gani Fawehinmi Impact and Integrity Award organized by the Human and Environment Development Agenda, (HEDA Resource Centre).

The event which is second in its series held in December 10 [2019] – the World Human Rights Day was organized as a mark of honour for the late human rights icon who died of cancer in 2009.

The award aims to encourage, promote and celebrate the uncommon principles of openness, honesty, accountability and transparency in both public and private spheres.
