2025 Meeting Ciudad de Malaga: Alaba Akintola Wins Men’s 200 Meters Race Event

Alaba Akintola recorded a new Personal Best (PB) of 20.23 seconds (0.1) to win the men’s 200 meters race event at the 2025 Meeting Ciudad de Malaga in Spain.

He broke his PB from 2022 and is now the fastest Nigerian man over the distance this year.

He had finished second in the 100 meters, moments before that, running a Season’s Best of 10.17 seconds.

2025 Ostrava Golden Spike Meet: Tobi Amusan Wins Women’s 100 Meters Hurdles Event

Tobi Amusan has emerged winner at the 2025 Ostrava Golden Spike meet, winning the women’s 100 meters hurdles event with a time of 12.45 seconds.

Tobi was way ahead of her closest challengers in the race; Viktória Foster who was second in 12.74 seconds and Sarah Lavin third with a time of 12.76 seconds, who both ran Season’s Bests.

Emmanuel Ojeli Wins Men’s 400 Meters Race Event At 2025 Meeting Pergine In Italy

Emmanuel Ojeli has won the men’s 400 meters race event at the 2025 Meeting Pergine in Italy with a new meeting record of 45.74 seconds.

He defeated Francesco Rossi and Vladmir Aceti who both clocked an identical 46.18 seconds to finish second and third respectively. Botswana’s Tumostatago Van Wyk came in fourth in that race with a time of 46.25 seconds.

2025 Star Athletics Sprint Series: Rosemary Chukwuma Wins Women’s 100 Meters Race Event

Rosemary Chukwuma has clocked a season’s best of 11.03 seconds (0.8) to win her 100 meters section at the 2025 Star Athletics Sprint Series in Florida.

With that time, she hit the qualification for the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, becoming the third Nigerian woman to achieve that after Favour Ofili and Tima Godbless.

Shannon Ray was second in that race in 11.32 seconds, while Candace Hill was third in 11.35 seconds.

Ogazi Samuel Wins 2025 NCAA Outdoor Men’s 400 Meters Race Event

Ogazi Samuel has won the 2025 NCAA outdoor men’s 400 meters race event with a time of 44.84 seconds.

He was well clear of the rest of the field as Gabriel Moronta was second in 45.47 seconds and William Jones in 45.53 seconds.

The first man from Alabama to win the title since the great Kirani James.

He is also only the second Nigerian man ever to win the NCAA Outdoor 400 meters title after Clement Chukwu in 1999.
