Ella Onojuvwevwo has emerged winner of the women’s 400 meters race event at the 2026 South Eastern Conference Title with a new indoor Personal Best (PB) of 50.96 seconds.
She becomes only the second woman from Africa to break 51 seconds in the event.
Amazing comeback for her, after she was disqualified last year for a false start.
Dejanea Oakley who won the other section in 51.21s, was 2nd overall.
Blessing Akintoye has won the women’s 200 meters and 400 meters race events at the 2026 Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships.
She smashed her Personal Best (PB) in the women’s 400 meters, clocking a time of 52.28 seconds.
She totally outclassed the field, her nearest competitor Emilia Tangara being almost 1.5 seconds behind in 53.48 seconds.
Akintoye then returned to the track for the 200 meters where she ran 23.67 seconds to win and complete the double. She ran a PB of 23.59 seconds in the prelims.
18-year-old Jessica Oji has broken the Nigerian and African record in the women’s shot put at the 2026 Ivy League Conference Championships, winning with a mark of 18.50 meters.
She broke the African Record (18.48 meters) set by Mine de Klerk who had broken Vivian Chukwuemeka’s record.
Oji in only her third ever competition under the Nigerian flag is now the best Shot Putter ever from the continent of Africa.
Forehan Abinusawa has emerged winner in the women’s 60 meters and 200 meters race events at the 2026 Ivy League Conference Championships.
She won the women’s 60 meters final, clocking a time of 7.25 seconds, well ahead of Juliette Kosmont who ran 7.40 seconds.
In the 200 meters final, she ran a new Personal Best (PB) of 23.30 seconds, taking a clear victory again over Alyssa Jackson in 23.62 seconds.
19-year-old Samuel Ogazi has stormed to gold in 44.72 seconds, setting a new African record and Nigerian national record in the men’s 400 meters race event at the 2026 SEC Conference Title Championship.
His time eclipsed the previous continental mark of 44.74 seconds set last year by Ezekiel Nathaniel.
Ogazi is also now the 10th fastest man ever to run the 400 meters indoors.
Jordan Pierre who won the other section in 45.06 seconds finished second overall.
Adaobi Tabugbo has emerged winner of the women’s 100 meters hurdles event at the 2026 UCF Black & Gold Challenge in Florida, clocking a time of 13.07 seconds (1.8).
She defeated Camden Bailey who was second in 13.10 seconds and Antoinette Galloway in 13.21 seconds.
Blessing Ogundiran has emerged winner of the women’s 100 meters race event at the 2026 UCF Black & Gold Challenge, winning in a time of 11.37 seconds (-0.5).
She easily broke the Warner University School Record of 11.63 seconds set by Jahhi Clarke-Bromfield. Armanie Coleman from another section was a far second in 11.59 seconds.
