Chidi Okezie and Alaba Akintola have emerged winners at the 2024 Darius Dixon Memorial in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Chidi Okezie ran a new Personal Best (PB) of 33.46 seconds to win the men’s 300 meters at the Darius Dixon Memorial in Lynchburg, Virginia. He beat the rest of the field by over half a second.

Alaba Akintola also competed at the same meet and ran a Season’s Best (SB) of 6.67 seconds to win the men’s 60 meters, leading a Nigerian 1-2 with Nurain Kola Musa in 6.73 seconds.

Edose Ibadin has set a new national record of 1:15.89 over 600 meters at the 2024 Big Apple Invitational in New York.

He broke his own record set in 2022, while he moved up to 7th on the all-time African list.

Alex Amankwah won the 600 meters event in a time of 1:15.82.

This is her third victory in 2024 as she finished ahead of Sharie Enoe who got 1.85 meters and took attempts at a would-be personal best of 1.97 meters.

Erhire Omamuyovwi Best has emerged winner of the men’s high jump event at the 2024 KSU DeLoss Dodds Invitational in Manhattan with a Season’s Best (SB) of 2.20 meters.

That’s the best height by a Nigerian in 2024 so far, finishing ahead off Devon Richardson and Kennedy Sauder, second and third respectively with 2.15 meters.
