Ruth Usoro has emerged winner of the women’s long jump event at the 2024 Jarvis Scott Open with a personal best leap of 6.87 meters.
This is the biggest jump in the world this year.
It automatically qualifies her for the Paris 2024 Olympic games as it was better than the qualification standard.

Chidi Okezie ran a new Personal Best (PB) of 33.46 seconds to win the men’s 300 meters at the Darius Dixon Memorial in Lynchburg, Virginia. He beat the rest of the field by over half a second.
Alaba Akintola also competed at the same meet and ran a Season’s Best (SB) of 6.67 seconds to win the men’s 60 meters, leading a Nigerian 1-2 with Nurain Kola Musa in 6.73 seconds.
Ese Brume has won the women’s Long Jump event at the 2024 Howie Ryan Invitational in Houston with a Season’s Best leap of 6.84 meters.
She won by almost a metre with second-placed Genesis Griffin recording 5.91 meters.
