Usheoritse Itsekiri Wins 60-metre Dash Event At 2023 Golden Bear Meet In Edmonton, Canada
In his first meet with the University of Regina’s track & field team, Usheoritse Itsekiri has won the 60-metre dash event at the 2023 Golden Bear Meet in Edmonton in a time that ranks second on the school’s all-time performance list.
Itsekiri ran 6.76 seconds in the preliminaries, 6.83 seconds in the semifinals, then put up a time of 6.70 seconds in the final to claim first place by just over a tenth of a second. Itsekiri’s winning time at the 2023 Golden Bear Meet was just three one-hundredths of a second shy of Tevaughn Campbell’s school record of 6.67 seconds, which the current Los Angeles Chargers defensive back set at the 2016 CIS Championships.
