Ugochukwu Chigborogu Wins 2018 CBN Governor’s Cup Golf Competition

Ugochukwu Chigborogu has emerged overall winner of the 2018 Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor’s Cup golf competition which took place at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.

Ugochukwu Chigborogu, a staff of Nigeria Agip Oil Company, defeated 200 other participants with a drive of 26 handicap after he recorded a gross of 91 and 65 net.

Team Nigeria Emerge Champions Of 2018 Zambia International Badminton Championship

Team Nigeria has emerged champions of the 2018 Zambia International Badminton Championship after winning four medals, comprising two gold and two silver.

The four-day championship held in Lusaka from November 29 – December 2 [2018], saw Dorcas Ajoke Adesokan emerge victorious over Ogar Siamupangila of Zambia 21-17, 21-15 in two straight sets in the women single event to win.

Adesokan also combined well with Anu Opeyori in the Mixed Doubles to defeat Bahaedeen Ahmed and Domou Amro of Jordan 21-18, 23-21.

Azerbaijan finished second overall with 2 gold medals while host, Zambia came third with 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Queen’s College Yaba & FGC Minna Win Inaugural Federal Government Colleges (FEDCOL) Football Tournament

Queen’s College Yaba, (QC) Football Team and FGC Minna have emerged 1st place winners (Girls and Boys respectively) in the maiden edition of the Federal Government Colleges (FEDCOL) Football Tournament held at the Federal Government Academy, Suleja from November 28 to December 1, 2018.

FGGC Abaji and FGC Wukari went home with the 2nd & 3rd place trophies (for Girls) respectively.

The Boys tournament was won by FGC Minna, who defeated FGC Sokoto, 2-0 to clinch the 1st place for Boys.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have emerged as the champions of Africa for an incredible ninth time after winning the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).

The Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated South Africa’s Bayana Bayana 4-3 in the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) final held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Moses Peter Wins 2018 African Scrabble Championship

Moses Peter, the captain of Nigeria’s senior scrabble team has emerged the African scrabble champion at the 2018 African Scrabble Championship in Kiriyangi, Kenya.

The team’s coach, Anthony Ikolo stated that Mr. Moses Peter emerged champion with two more games to play at the 13th edition of the championship.

Georgia Oboh Wins 2018 Cote d’Ivoire Open Title [Golf]

17-year-old Georgia Oboh commences her professional golfing career by winning the 2018 Cote d’Ivoire Open title in Houphouet Boigny’s country.

Georgia Oboh finished the tournament with scores of 74, 78, 85, 78, winning the tournament by three shots ahead of Senegal’s Oumy Dieye and Madagascar’s Leslie Grandet of the Sunshine Ladies tour and a host of lady professionals from Côte d’Ivoire.

With this win, Oboh has become the youngest winner of a professional event in Africa.

Lobi Stars has emerged winners of the 2018 Nigeria Super Cup in a 1-0 win over Enugu Rangers at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Samad Kadiri was the match-winner for Lobi Stars getting the winner in the first-half for the 2018 Nigeria League champions.

The Nigeria Super Cup annual contest, which serves to usher in the new Nigeria football league season, is played between the league champions and Aiteo Cup winners.
