Team Nigeria Wins West Africa King Of Mountain Cycling Championship [2018]

Nigerian cyclists have emerged winners of the 2018 West Africa King of the Mountain Cycling Championship held in the stretch of Kwahu Eastern region of Ghana.

The Nigerian team led by Kurotimi Abaka beat Ghana’s Solomon Tagoe to the second position, while Burkina Faso’s Guigmde Arnaud came third at the one-day event.

D’Tigress Excel At 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup

D’Tigress, Nigeria’s women basketball team excelled at the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup reaching the quarterfinal in only their second appearance.

D’Tigress defeated Turkey, Argentina and Greece to become the first African team to qualify for the quarterfinals.

D’Tigress was defeated at the quarterfinal by the United States of America (USA) with a final  score of 71-40.

Nigeria Taekwondo International Open Awarded G-1 International Ranking

The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) has approved the 2nd Nigeria Taekwondo International (NTF) Open Championships by awarding it a G-1 International ranking.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the NTF-organised event planned for Abuja is the first competition in Nigeria to have an international ranking.

Nigeria Wins Africa’s First-Ever Floorball Tournament [2018]

The Nigeria Floorball team has emerged African Champions of the First African Floorball Cup defeating Burkina Faso in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire to lift African trophy.

Led by the president of the Nigeria Floorball Association, Maduka Edith Chinenye, the Coach Freeman Ekundayo tutored the Nigerian team with only Seven players and three officials during the Championship.

Aruna Quadri Wins 2018 ITTF African Championship (Men’s Singles)

Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri and Egypt’s Dina Meshref emerge winners of the men and women’s singles event at the 2018 ITTF African Championships in Mauritius.

According to a statement by ATTF-Africa, Aruna Quadri did not drop a point from the first round until the final to win his first African Championships title.

Nigeria Wins Men’s Team Table Tennis ITTF African Championship [2018]

The Nigeria men’s table tennis team have emerged champions at the International Table Tennis Federation, ITTF, African championship in Mauritius.

Aruna Quadri led Nigeria to a 3-1 victory over Egypt in the final of the men’s team event.

Nigeria Wins ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifier Africa Division Two Title [2018]

Nigeria’s junior national cricket team emerge winner of the International Cricket Council, ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifier Africa Division Two title at the Senwes Park, in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

Nigeria defeated Sierra Leone at the finals by 137 runs and triumphed over Tanzania in one of the semifinals to qualify for the 2020 ICC World Cup. It also earned the team promotion to the Division One cadre.
