Miracle Thompson has won the 60-meter Hurdles and 60 meters dash events at the 2023 Kansas Jayhawk Conference Indoor Championships.
In the 60-meter hurdles, 0.005 seconds separated her and Danae Nembhard of Barton (Kan.) CC. Both clocked 8.29 seconds in moving to No. 5 on the NJCAA indoor all-time list.
Thompson lined up against Nembhard some 10 minutes later in the 60 meters of the 2023 Kansas Jayhawk Conference Indoor Championships and responded with a PR of 7.46 seconds for her second title of the meet as Nembhard followed in 7.59 seconds.
The 4×400 relay finished off the meet’s final day, and Thompson ran the third leg – matched against Nembhard yet again – on the T-Birds’ winning team that ran a seasonal-best 3:48.68.
This is Thompson’s second time being honored as M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week in indoor track and field this year. She is the fourth female athlete from Cloud County to earn this distinction in indoor track and field.
