Omowumi Etiko Wins 2016 SWEC Female Entrepreneur

Omowumi Etiko, founder of the Nusafiri Experience, a travel and concierge company has emerged winner of the Small Medium Enterprise, SME Women’s Exclusive Club (SWEC) 2016.

The event sponsored by Addosser Micro Finance bank in Lagos, saw the winner awarded “Female Entrepreneur Scale up Grant” of 500,000.

Omowumi Etiko, commended Addosser Micro Finance Bank for the opportunity to be part of the SWEC Business Plan Accelerator Programme and interacting with and interaction with high quality business leaders and mentors.

She said that women should seize the opportunity to be part of SWEC, adding that “what we learn from the programme is priceless.

According to the Managing Director, Addosser Micro Finance Bank, Deji Sobulo:

“We took them through different aspect of business, from human resource to financing, administration, and also on logistic and how to market products online. One of the things we took into cognizant are businesses that have local content.

We will ensure that we keep close contact with them to ensure they progress in their businesses, and for those who require financing, we will ensure that they get financing to ensure that they scale up their businesses.

One of the things we are promising through these initiatives, we have partners like the bank of Industry, (BOI) we also access financing for all lending to small businesses.”

The launch of SWEC and inaugural edition of its programme and business plan competition aims specifically at empowering female led Nigerian businesses, which have the potential to contribute to Nigeria’s economic future and sustainable development.
