Rose Okeke Wins 2022 James Currey Prize For African Literature

Rose Okeke has won the 2022 James Currey Prize for African Literature for her manuscript, “Child of the Corn” and receives £1,000.

The winner was announced at a prize ceremony hosted by OneWorld Publications publisher, Juliet Mabey on 3 September 2022, marking the end of the 3-day James Currey Literary Festival, which held at the University of Oxford between 1 and 3 September 2022.

Ngwaogu Ifeoluwa Ugochi Wins 2022 South Africa Airways Essay Competition (SAAEC)

Ngwaogu Ifeoluwa Ugochi of the Abesan Senior High School, Ipaja, Lagos has emerged as the winner of the third South Africa Airways Essay competition (SAAEC 2022), which was held recently in Lagos.

Ngwaogu Ifeoluwa Ugochi receives a cash prize of 150,000, while Aladetohun Kamimayo Enoch of St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka and Oshimade Abisola Promise of Abiolu Comprehensive College, Igando, came second and third, respectively.

The duo also went home with cash prizes of 100,000 and 50,000 for their efforts.
