Tinubu’s anticlimactic ambassadorial list By Punch Editorial Board on December 17, 2025: Recommended Nigerian Newspaper Report 8
AFTER two years of navigating a self-imposed wilderness in the complex world of international diplomacy, Nigeria is set to send new ambassadors abroad in the New Year.
This follows President Bola Tinubu’s reopening of the détente by nominating 68 persons for ambassadorial postings, starting with three on 26 November.
Unfortunately, the ambassadorial lists were unveiled only after more than half of Tinubu’s tenure had elapsed. This is not just a bureaucratic oversight; it betrays a lack of understanding of the exigencies of modern statecraft.
