Winners Of Jumia Travel Third Edition Nigeria Travel Awards

Winners have emerged at the third edition of the Nigeria Travel Awards organised by Jumia Travel at Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Managing Director of Jumia Travel Nigeria, Miss Omolara Adagunodo, said the award was organised to raise the service delivery bar in the Nigeria travel/hospitality industry, and encourage all hotels and airlines in the country to offer the highest quality of service to their customers. She also explained that the award was to recognise individuals and organisations within the country’s travel and tourism industry.

Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja and Deeper Life School, Akure have emerged first and second place winners respectively of the Mathematics for Life National Mathematics Competition in which over 200 schools across Nigeria participated.

The competition organised by Mathematics for Life Foundation is one of the activities adopted by the foundation for the promotion and advocacy of the study of mathematics in Nigeria.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Listed In Transparency International “Anti-Corruption Fighters”

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been listed as one of the eight Transparency International “Anti-Corruption fighters”. She is the only Nigerian and the second African to make the list.

According to Transparency International, the women listed are:

“… setting a positive example, showing that women are not only victims of corruption, but also key players in the struggle against it.”

Adeola Ogunmola Sowemimo becomes the first Nigerian female pilot at Qatar Airways and the first Nigerian female pilot on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner Aircraft.

According to reports, she is also the first Nigerian female pilot to fly the Boeing 767 Aircraft across the Atlantic.

Adeola Ogunmola Sowemimo is now in the same league with Kenya’s Captain Irene Koki, Ethiopia’s Captain Amsale Gulau and a few other African women who fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
