PositiveNaija: Please, what is your name in full?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: I’m Chukwu Micheal Ike.

PositiveNaija: What is your nationality and city you are from?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: Nigerian (Afikpo)

PositiveNaija: What decade were you born?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: 2000s

PositiveNaija: Who named you your name(s)?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: My parents.

PositiveNaija: What is the translation or meaning of your traditional name(s) in English?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: My middle name is “Ike” which means power.

PositiveNaija: Why were you named your name(s) – the reason or story?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: I really don’t know, my parents did the selection. I haven’t asked why either.

PositiveNaija: Did you give yourself a name – officially or unofficially? If yes, why and what does it mean?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: Emmm, my nickname is “Mavix”, it has no meaning, but I coined it out of Mavins. I used the name because I wanted a nickname, away from the official name. Yeah.

PositiveNaija: Culturally and/or spiritually, do you see or perceive a significance or impact of your name based on the result of your life so far?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: Emmm, spirituality? Yeah. I feel my three names impact a lot in my life. My surname is Chukwu meaning God. My first name is Micheal meaning “Gifted by God” or “Who is like God?”. My middle name is Ike, meaning “power”. I feel these names give my unmerited favour in some instances. Then, other times I feel very powerful and capable of doing anything I want, and surprising whatever I do in those instances just work out. The name has significant impact in my life.

PositiveNaija: Do you think your name has an impact on the lives of people or anyone who calls your name and why?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: I really don’t know. It’s for them to tell. But I believe it does too.

PositiveNaija: What do you want your name to be remembered for?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: Greatness and enormous kindness.

PositiveNaija: Any other insights or experiences you might want to share on the subject/importance of names?

Chukwu Micheal Ike: No, nothing else.

If you want to give your child a name, look into it very well.
