Rosemary Chukwuma has set a new personal best (PB) of 22.82 seconds to win the women’s 200 meters race event at the 2023 Jarvis Scott Open in Lubbock.
The two-day event was held between February 10-11, 2023.
She breaks the Texas Tech School Record set in 2015. Chukwuma now owns the record for the fastest times in the women’s 60 meter and 200-meter dashes for Tech.
Success Umukoro was third with a PB of 23.78 seconds, while Mercy Umoibang clocked 24.41 seconds to take third in her heat.
According to head track coach Wes Kittley on Rosemary at the 2023 Jarvis Scott Open:
“I think (Chukwuma’s) capable of even more than that. She ran 22.82 and I believe she’ll run in the 22.70s at Big 12. She’s really really come on both in the 60 and the 200 so nothing surprises me with Rosemary.”
