Team Delta State Wins 20th National Sports Festival

Team Delta State has emerged overall winner of the 20th National Sports Festival held in Edo State between April 2 – 14, 2021 obtaining a total of 384 medals (158 gold, 116 silver, and 110 bronze).

Team Edo State, the host, finished in second place with a total of 341 medals – 129 gold, 104 silver, and 108 bronze while Team Bayelsa State finished a third with a total of 169 medals – 56 gold, 55 silver, and 58 bronze.

Rivers State finished in fourth place with 33 gold, 34 silver, and 61 bronze (a total of 128 medals); Lagos State in fifth position with 32 gold, 40 silver, 54 bronze (a total of 126 medals); Oyo State in sixth position – 31 gold, 30 silver, 42 bronze (a total of 103 medals).

With 20 gold, 24 silver, and 44 bronze, Akwa Ibom State came seventh; Ogun State had 16 gold, 23 silver, 39 bronze to emerge eighth; Kano State ninth with 11 gold, 22 silver, 33 bronze, and Imo State emerged 10th with 10 gold, 13 silver, and 26 bronze.

Abia, Imo, Cross River, FCT, Ondo state, Anambra, Kwara, Nasarawa state, Kaduna state and Bauchi state occupy the 11th to 20th positions in that order.

Niger, Ebonyi, Enugu state, Ekiti, Borno, Osun, Gombe state, Zamfara, Yobe, Katsina state, Kebbi, Kogi, Adamawa, Sokoto state, Benue and Taraba States also occupy the 21st to 36th positions respectively.

Jigawa bring up the rear with no medal won at the 20th National Sports Festival.
