Winners have emerged in the BusinessDay Top 25 CEOs And Next Bulls Awards 2020 organised by BusinessDay Media in collaboration with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) held virtually on September 5, 2020.

The CEO and Next Bulls awards recognises the CEOs of listed companies creating competitive shareholder value through sound strategy, disciplined execution and world class governance. In addition, it celebrates chief executives of quoted companies that have demonstrated the most impressive gains in both share price and service delivery.

Themed “Advancing Against all Odds”, this year’s award particularly recognised businesses that have been thriving in spite of the global harsh economic realities.

The CEOs award celebrates the CEOs of successful, privately-owned indigenous companies built by Nigerians, led by Nigerians and poised to lead their categories on the continent.

Part of the criteria for selecting winners of this year’s awards are stock price appreciation, Profit After Tax (PAT) growth, an unblemished regulatory compliance record, and positive marketplace reputation among customers in the period under review.

Winners are also selected based on significant interest shown by active and informed investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange to invest in their stock should their boards ever decide to take them public.

First Bank Of Nigeria Launches FastTrack ATM

First Bank of Nigeria has launched the FastTrack ATM, a Next Generation ATM and first of its kind in Africa, designed to promote financial activities on the ATM devoid of any form of physical interaction with the machine.

In the light of COVID-19, First Bank of Nigeria introduced the FastTrack ATM which is done in partnership with Inlaks enables customers carry out cash withdrawals without having to touch the interface of the ATM.

Winners Of AfDB AgriPitch Competition 2020

Winners have emerged in the African Development Bank, AfDB AgriPitch Competition 2020.

The AgriPitch competition was part of the Bank’s fourth African Youth Agripreneurs Forum (AYAF) – one of the continent’s most exciting platforms for African youth in the agriculture start-up scene – which kicked off on 3 November with weekly webinars and ended with the AgriPitch winners’ ceremony held on 17 November 2020.

The AgriPitch competition offered young entrepreneurs in Africa’s agricultural sector the opportunity to pitch their agribusiness proposals to a panel of experts and investors who selected winners in “early start-up”, “mature start-up” and “women-empowered businesses” categories.

Held virtually, AfDB AgriPitch Competition 2020 saw more than 2,500 applications and 605 proposals from 30 countries shortlisted down to 25 finalists from 12 countries. The finalists qualified for a two-week business development boot camp, and then a select top 9 AgriPitch competitors made their final pitches to an online panel of judges and investors.
