Oladimeji ldris Shotunde has emerged as the overall best graduating student at the 24th Convocation ceremony at the Lagos State University (LASU).

Oladimeji ldris Shotunde of the Department of Business Administration graduated as the best graduating student with a CGPA of 4.95 – setting a new record as the best graduating student at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels by clinching the highest ever results in the institution.

Olusola Aanu Olabanjo with a CGPA of 5.0 graduated as the best M.Sc. student.

Oluwatoni Adesanya Wins Second Prize In Kemper Human Rights Education Foundation (KHREF) Essay Competition [2020]

Oluwatoni Adesanya, a student of Greensprings School, Lagos, has won the second prize in Kemper Human Rights Education Foundation’s (KHREF) essay competition 2020.

Oluwatoni Adesanya’s essay titled: “Human rights violations masquerading as COVID-19 interventions: The Nigerian experience”, was adjudged second best, and awarded $500 prize in the international competition, which received about 100 entries from 17 different countries.

Hamzat Bala Lawal, Benjamin John and Olabukunola Williams emerge among 22 new advocates from six countries into the Education Champion Network 2020 Cohort by Malala Fund.

This is the the largest new cohort since the programme launched in 2017. The year 2020 also marks the Education Champion Network’s expansion into Ethiopia.

Malala Fund’s Education Champion Network invests in local leaders to accelerate progress towards girls’ secondary education around the world. These individuals best understand the needs of girls in their community, the barriers that keep them out of school and how to overcome these obstacles.

Joshua Agboola Wins 2020 MTN mPulse Hackathon

12-year-old Joshua Agboola has won the MTN mPulse Hackathon themed ‘Beyond COVID’.

The MTN mPulse was initiated in 2018 for kids between age nine and 15 with a portal that assists students with work while getting some entertainment.

Joshua Agboola who is a JSS 2 student of Bellina College, Akoka in Lagos, won the competition by creating ‘Kagukar Study Buddie’, a home-schooling, remote education and learning solution.

Olalekan Adeeko Wins African Union Continental Teacher Prize 2020

Olalekan Adeeko, a teacher at Baptist Boys’ High School, Ogun has won the African Union Continental Teacher Prize 2020 for his work and dedication to the teaching profession.

He is the first Nigerian to win the prestigious award at the virtual event held in Addis Ababa on the 21st of December, 2020.

For the 2020 edition of the African Union Continental Teacher Awards, prizes of $10,000 each were awarded to top African teachers at the secondary school level.

The AU Teacher Prize has been established as a means for demonstrating respect for teachers and the teaching profession, by encouraging and celebrating the committed teachers in Africa.
