Nkechi Alexandra Kingsley has emerged as the overall best graduating student at the 27th Convocation ceremony at the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH).

The ceremony was held at the Convocation Ground on the main campus of the institution in Ikorodu on March 12, 2020.

Nkechi Alexandra Kingsley of the Department of Chemical Engineering, graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.93 on a scale of 4.0.

Adeleke Adekunle is a final year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos (UNILAG). Adeleke Adekunle triumphed over 700 other students from the University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University (Ife), Ahmadu Bello University (Zaria) and University of Nigeria (Nsukka); who entered for the fierce competition described as the biggest hunt for the best pharmacy brain in Nigeria.

Akintade Abdullahi Akanbi from Osogbo Government High School Osogbo, Osun State, has emerged overall winner of the 2020 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award Competition.

Uwakwe Nelson Kamsiyochukwu from British Spring College, Awka emerged in second place while Aimofumhe Eshiobomhe Sigmus from the School of the Gifted, Gwagwalada, Abuja, emerged in third place.

Chidozie Ojobor Emerges First Canadian University Student To Win MPOWER Financing Global Citizen Scholarship

Chidozie Ojobor has emerged the first Canadian University student to win the MPOWER Financing Global Citizen Scholarship valued at $5,000.

He was picked by MPOWER staff out of 1,121 eligible applications – which they cite as a record number of applicants.

The $5,000 scholarships were awarded on the strength of applicants’ essay submissions. Ojobor’s submission identified the need to address the threat of superbugs.
