Canterbury International School Wins Inaugural SON Innovation Competition

Canterbury International School, Ajah, has emerged the overall champion in the maiden edition of Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) innovation competition to commemorate the World Standards Day.

The SON Innovation Competition, in partnership with Dansol High School, celebrates outstanding secondary students for their unique innovations, and creates an avenue for students to come out with unique digital innovations that would provide long-lasting solutions to socio-economic issues in Nigeria.

Ayafa Tonye Amada & Richard Uyok Win 2018 Lagos Debate Open (LDO)

Ayafa Tonye Amada and Richard Uyok have emerged overall winners of the maiden edition of the Lagos Debate Open (LDO) hosted by the University of Lagos.

Ayafa Tonye Amada of Covenant University paired with Richard Uyok of University of Calabar (as is the practice with Debate Opens) and they both outmatched other debaters and delegates to win the Open.

A pair of the University of Ghana, Legon and University of Calabar came second; while the teams from Universities of Port Harcourt and Lagos (the host) came third and fourth.

A’eesha Humayrah Abaji Emerge Best Graduating Medical Student Of Ahmadu Bello University

Dr. A’eesha Humayrah Abaji has emerged the best graduating medical student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria of the Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. A’eesha Humayrah Abaji emerged the best student in Community Medicine, Haematology, Microbiology, Medicine, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Paediatrics.

The 25-year-old lady attended Air Force Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Jos, from where she gained admission into the Ahmadu Bello University Faculty of Medicine in 2012 for the six-year course.

Rainbow College Wins 2018 Felabration Secondary Schools Debates

Rainbow College, located in Surulere, Lagos, has won the 2018 edition of the Felabration Secondary Schools Debates.

Vivian Fowler Memorial College in Ikeja, Lagos came in second place and the third place winner was the Ipakodo Senior Grammar School in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The Felabration Secondary Schools Debates gives secondary school children a platform to debate national issues. The event, according to the organisers, is a way of “sensitising the youths to stand up to the call of patriotism.” This year, all of the participating schools were located in Lagos.

Winners Of EmergeOndo Innovation In Governance Hackathon 2018

The EmergeOndo Innovation in Governance Hackathon has announced Team Gadges, Team Psyche, Team FarmCred and Team Dunalinks as the winners in its four thematic areas, namely; renewable energy, education, agricultural accessibility, and business linkages respectively.

The EmergeOndo Innovation in Governance Hackathon took place over a three-day period from December 6th-8th, 2018 within the three innovation hubs located in Akure, Ondo State — Akure Tech Hub, Curators Hub and Premier Hub Innovation Center.
