Kolawole Tomisin and Erioluwa Morenikeji, from the University of Ibadan have emerged 1st prize winners of ₦1.5 million for their initiative – Vinsighte, in the Union Bank Campus Innovation Challenge held in Lagos.
Vinsighte is a health technology project that makes use of technology to help blind and visually impaired persons live a happier, more comfortable life.

The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has emerged winner of the 2018 UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy due to an education for prisoners programme being run by the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), which was selected as one of the five winners of this year’s prize, got the laurel in recognition of its innovative literacy programme of equipping prisoners with useful skills and professions to facilitate income generation upon discharge and discourage future crime.
Winners of the prize are awarded a silver medal, a diploma and US$20,000 prize money, as well as a trip to the birthplace of Confucius.

Lotachi Ugwunwa Onyemenam has emerged the best graduating student of University of Cape Coast (UCC) in Ghana receiving a record 15 out of 21 awards.
Some of the awards received by Lotachi Ugwunwa Onyemenam are the vice-chancellor of UCC prize for the overall best performance, Ghana Medical Association best student, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital prize for the best student among others.
The other awards went to Akorfa Ama Wotordzor who received five awards with the remainder going to Amanda Naa Atwei Bruce-Adjei.
Juliet Ezekiel emerge as the best graduate of Benson Idahosa University (BIU), Benin, in the 2017/2018 academic session at the 14th Convocation of the University.
The 23-year-old graduated with a first class degree from the Department of Computer Science, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.95 on a scale of 4.0.
Juliet Ezekiel also received the President’s Prize and Dr. Goddie Isibor’s Prize for the Best Graduating Student, among others.
Brampton Manor Academy in East Ham, London with Dr. Dayo Olukoshi, OBE, as its Executive Principal has achieved record A-level results with over 100 students achieving straight A or A* grades.
The feat gives Brampton Manor Academy its best ever student success in A’level results this year.
Dr. Dayo Olukoshi was awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2015 for his services to education.

Deborah Onitilo of New Chrisfield College, Ikorodu, Lagos, has emerged overall winner of the 2018 Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition for Secondary School students in Nigeria.
Deborah Onitilo emerged winner after scoring 63 percent in the first round of the competition and 52 percent in the second round.
The second position went to Miss Ashley Davidson of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, Ikeja, who scored 62 percent in the first round and 49 percent in the second round to emerge second.
Master Ferdinand Esigbone-Omagbemi, a student of Roshallom International Secondary School, Lagos, scored 60 percent in the first round and 47 percent in the second round to claim the third position.
