17-year-old Ansel Ahabue has become a college degree holder before his high school graduation.
Having received an associate degree with honors at Georgia State University, Ansel Ahabue got his high school diploma on May 23rd [2018].
In the words of his Ansel’s mother:
“Prince Ansel, my blessed son, in whom I am well pleased! It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes! Thank God for His Grace!!”
Winners have emerged at the 10th Annual Microsoft Office Specialist Competition on Computer Fundamentals and Adobe Certification.
More than 500 students from 42 schools in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory participated in the competition that held May 26.
In Adobe certified Associate 2018, Nemieboka Alfred, 14, emerged winner of an all-expenses paid trip to the MOS World Championship in Orlando Florida as well as a cash prize of ₦50,000, while Tare Ebelo, 15, was first runner up, winning a cash prize of ₦30,000. Rufai Hanifa was the second runner up with a ₦20,000 prize money.
In the 2018 Computing Fundamentals (GS4 National category) Chidiebere Jefery, who came tops went home with a brand new laptop computer as prize, while Lott Tomvie, who was first runner-up also received a laptop computer prize.
In the MOS national competition (Power point 2013), Usman Abdullah, 16, came tops, winning an all-expenses paid trip to the MOS World Championship in Orlando Florida, in addition of a cash prize of ₦50,000, while Cue Eze Zeluilo, 17, was first runner-up with a prize money of ₦30,000. The third prize of ₦20,000 cash went to Azaiki Sinikem.
In Power Point 2013, Eze Zaluchukwuoku won an all-expenses paid trip to the MOS World Championship in Orlando Florida as well as a cash prize of ₦50,000. He was also the runner up in the Word 2013 category won by Samantha Isichei.
Both Isichei and Zaluchukwuoku won an all-expenses paid trip to the MOS World Championship in Orlando Florida as well as cash prizes of ₦50,000 each.
Aduvie International School (Jahi, Abuja) with four of the school representatives were among seven students selected to represent Nigeria at the 2018 World championship in Orlando Florida in October.
Aduvie International School also emerged winners of both the Best School Category and the Best ICT Teacher Category in this year’s competition.
Consequently, one of its ICT teachers, Timothy Osaigbovo, would accompany the team to the world championship.
The ICT teacher, Mr. Osaigbovo said on the victory at the 10th Microsoft Office Specialist Competition:
“I am proud to equip them with the necessary skills that they can use to be successful in the future.
Winners have emerged in the Spelling Bee competition held in Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA) and Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Johnpaul Njemnaobi of Shasha Nursery/Primary School took the first position while Daniel Akwomakou of Shasha Community High School won first position in the secondary school category.
Twelve schools – eight primary and four secondary schools – participated in the competition, which held at the council secretariat.
The council chairman, Mr. Jelil Sulaimon, advised the pupils to listen to their questions very well before answering them. He said the competition was held to hone the pupils’ skills in spellings.
Wife of the council chairman Hadjia Kabirat Sulaimon urged the pupils to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship. She noted that contests made students to perform better in their studies.
Master Oluwafemi Olasehinde of Shasha Community High School, who was the one day governor in 2016, advised the pupils to see challenges as part of their contest.
Master Oluwafemi Olasehinde stated:
“Plan, prepare prayerfully and proceed positively. Don’t panic. The competition is easy.”
Master Ikem Favour of Estate Primary School, Ile-Iwe Metta emerged the winner of the primary school category of Spelling Bee Competition in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Esiekpei Onome of Central Senior High School Okota beat others to the first prize in the secondary category.
Onyeagam Chidiebere of Akinbaiye Primary School and Ayebayo Precious came second and third respectively.
Evelyn Enwereuzo of Ajumoni Senior Grammar School and Oyelami Khalid of Okota Secondary School were runners-up.
The council Chairman, Shamsudeen Abiodun Olaleye hailed Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for initiating the Spelling Bee competition.
The competition, he said, aside helping students to improve on their vocabulary, also helps them to study hard in their educational pursuit.
According to him, his administration is on the threshold of returning public schools to its glorious past through interventions that would encourage pupils have equal opportunities with those in private schools.
To ensure this, Olaleye said the council has taken delivery of a 100-seater school bus that would convey students to and from the school.
According to Shamsudeen Abiodun Olaleye:
“In the next two weeks, we’re going to take delivery of another one and hopefully we would buy the third one before the commencement of next academic session. In all, we have earmarked three buses to ease the movement of our pupils.
The buses would pick pupils from Ilasamaja, Ajao Estate and Okota in the mornings and return them in the afternoon. This would allow the students to concentrate fully on their studies.”
Prime Scholars Academy School, Karu, Abuja, has emerged winner of the fourth edition of Best Brain Concept Mathematical competition beating nine other schools who competed in the mathematics quiz.

25-year-old Dr. Olamide Samuel has set a new record as the first African Ph.D holder in National Security Strategy. Dr. Olamide is based in the United Kingdom where he studied and graduated at University of Birmingham – Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies, UK.

Okolie Elvis Anyaehiechukwu, has emerged as the best graduating student with 4.80 CGPA (out of the maximum 5.0), from the Department Of Public Health, Faculty Of Allied Medical Science at the University of Calabar (UNICAL) in the 2016/2017 academic session.
In the words of Okolie Elvis Anyaehiechukwu:
“I am a youth advocate, researcher and social mobiliser dedicated to making the world a better place.
Public Health has proven to be the best course to study if you intend to make monumental impact and leave a legacy on earth. I chose Public Health because it is the course that offers me a rare platform to create the world we want.
Every aspect of Public Health is intriguing as they all relate to preventing diseases, prolonging life and promoting health and efficiency of the population. To also give a bit of clarity as to areas that stood out for me. Epidemiology, Health Education and Promotion, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Health Services Management and Quality assurance in health care delivery were areas that fuel my passion in the field.
There’s no course that is simple and I also believe no course is hard. What matters most is the passion for whatever you are doing regardless of the course. Parents and guardians should also not impose specific courses on their children or wards. Public health is my life and I know my life is not hard.
How did I do it? I didn’t do it but God did it all. I only knew what I wanted; I projected my visions, gave in a lot of sacrifice and worked day and night to attain this height.
The first piece of advice is that self-discovery is paramount to achieving excellence. It is also pertinent to have an ability to critically discern in many situations of life. I encourage students to look out for opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies and after school. It is pertinent that they also know certain tips which were helpful to me; confidence in oneself, priority setting, consistent preparation, time management, crazy but brilliant friends, strategic examination delivery and legible writing, insatiable desire to be the best wherever you find yourself, mum’s prayers and above all, God’s grace.”
