Winners Of Standard Chartered Nigeria Women In Technology Incubator Project [3rd Cohort]

Standard Chartered Nigeria has announced five (5) winners of the third edition of its Women in Technology Incubator programme (SC-WITI) in Nigeria.

Chief Executive Officer, Lamin Manjang announced the winners from the 3rd cohort of the program at the graduation ceremony in Lagos on February 4, 2022.

This year’s winners are: Oluwadamilola Soyombo (Founder of Skooqs); Bolarinwa Kemisola (Founder of Nextwear Technology); Adegbite Adenike ((Founder, The Trillionbucks Company); Zita Agwunobi (Founder/CEO of Iverify) and Wunmi Akinsola (Founder of Fashtracker’).

Professor Peter James Kpolovie Wins IARC Scientist Of The Year 2021 Award (Natural Sciences / Computer and Information Sciences)

Professor Peter James Kpolovie has emerged winner of the International Achievements Research Center (IARC) Scientist of the Year 2021 Award (Natural Sciences / Computer and Information Sciences category).

Peter James Kpolovie is a Professor at the Department of Psychology, and former Director of Academic Planning, Research, and Control at the University of Port Harcourt.

Professor Peter James Kpolovie was among the thirteen (13) winners of the global competition organised by the International Achievements Research Centre (IARC) located in Montreal, Canada.

IARC designed the event to foster the professional growth of talented scientists, engineers, and researchers from various regions of the world through showcasing the latest results of their work, their notable discoveries and breakthroughs that advance the frontiers of science and technology.

The African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Disease (ACEGID) has won the 2021 Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) Gold Medal Prize for Life Sciences.

Famidah Yussuf Emerges Overall Winner Of Union Bank Of Nigeria The Next Robotics Legend 2.0

14-year-old Famidah Yussuf has emerged as the overall winner of the Union Bank Of Nigeria The Next Robotics Legend 2.0 for designing a robotic solution to tackle the shortage of medical personnel and reduce direct contact between medical personnel and patients, especially in cases of transmissible diseases.

Two runners-up, Munachiso Okeoma and Oluwatimilehin Oke, designed a multifunctional smart health robot for conducting medical scans as well as performing surgical operations; and an agricultural robotic solution for weed identification and removal, monitoring soil conditions, and controlling the spread of diseases, respectively.

Winners Of 2021 Nigeria Climate Innovation Center (NCIC) Embryo Incubation Programme

The winners of the 2021 Nigeria Climate Innovation Center (NCIC) Embryo Incubation Programme (EIP), sponsored by the All On Hub have emerged.

The winners and members of the 2021 cohort, who were announced on September 27, 2021, after a Demo Day pitch event held in Ajah, Lagos, were: Dalsman Tech, Darlton Consult, Bebeque Limited, D’Suon Limited, Artec-hubs, DiamundGates Ltd, Trekk Scooters, SiriusX Energy, Susten Solutions, Aglobe Development Center, Drift Power, ArleeGreen Renewables, Vdverts, Think Electric Africa, WakaGen, Zimaj Craft Enterprise, Iyfarm, Vectar Energy, Lanray Technical Solutions, and YOWIF.

Twenty clean energy start-ups, from over 400 original applications successfully completed a 6-month incubation programme run by the NCIC.
