Jerry Jakpa has won the men’s 200 meters at the Citius Meet in Berne, Switzerland.
At the Citius Meet, Jerry Jakpa equalled his personal best of 20.59 seconds to finish ahead of Antunes Diogo, who recorded 20.70 seconds and Martina Churandy, 20.76 seconds.
In the same race, Jakpa’s fellow Nigerian, Ogho-Oghene Egwero, finished 7th in 21.30 seconds.
Ese Brume has set a new Personal Best time to win the 100 meters race event at the Buyukler Sampiyonasi meet in Turkey on the 4th of August 2019.
Ese Brume previously ran a time of 11.50 seconds in the semifinals before running a time of 11.41 seconds ahead of Burcu Erdemir who ran 11.71 seconds and Elif Polat in 11.81 seconds.
Ese also jumped a massive 7.05 meters to win the women’s Long Jump finals, also breaking her personal best in the event.
Team Nigeria has emerged overall champions in the maiden edition of the Africa Cup Track Cycling with a total of 50 medals in Abuja.
Team Nigeria won 21 gold, 17 silver and 12 bronze medals in the overall result of the medals table – in both junior and elite categories.

Kano Pillars FC have emerged champions of the 2019 Federation Cup, also known as Aiteo Cup on the 28th of July 2019.
Sai Masu Gida, as they are fondly called, beat Niger Tornadoes 4-3 on penalties after both teams had played a barren draw in regulation period.
With the win, Kano Pillars FC receive ₦25 million as prize money for winning the title while Niger Tornadoes receive ₦10 million.

Mfon Udoh and Sanusi Ibrahim of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) have officially been rewarded with the 2019 Eunisell Boot Award and a cash prize of ₦2 million each for emerging joint-highest goal scorers in just concluded season (2018/2019).
Akwa United captain and Nasarawa United striker both scored 10 goals each this past NPFL season and Eunisell values a goal in the Nigeria Professional Football League at Two Hundred Thousand Naira (₦200,000) at the Eunisell Boot Awards 2019 ceremony held in Raddison Blu Hotel, Ikeja-Lagos.
