Usheoritse Itsekiri Wins 60-metre Dash Event At 2023 Golden Bear Meet In Edmonton, Canada

In his first meet with the University of Regina’s track & field team, Usheoritse Itsekiri has won the 60-metre dash event at the 2023 Golden Bear Meet in Edmonton in a time that ranks second on the school’s all-time performance list.

Itsekiri ran 6.76 seconds in the preliminaries, 6.83 seconds in the semifinals, then put up a time of 6.70 seconds in the final to claim first place by just over a tenth of a second. Itsekiri’s winning time at the 2023 Golden Bear Meet was just three one-hundredths of a second shy of Tevaughn Campbell’s school record of 6.67 seconds, which the current Los Angeles Chargers defensive back set at the 2016 CIS Championships.

Alaba Akintola has emerged winner of the 60 meters race event at the 2023 UNM Team Open in New Mexico with a time of 6.61 seconds.

Deondre Spruill finished second in 6.76 seconds.

Alaba Akintola has emerged winner of 60 meters and 200 meters race events at the 2023 Commodore Challenge.

The Nigeria sprinter and student of Middle Tennessee State University Alaba Akintola on January 17, 2023 broke the 20-year 60 meters school record when he ran a time of 6.59 seconds at the 2023 Commodore Challenge.

Omamuyovwi Erhire Jumps 2.23 Meters At Sports Performance Center In Lubbock, Texas

High jumper Omamuyovwi Erhire made a memorable debut for Texas Tech at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas where he cleared 2.23 meters in the men’s high jump to equal his lifetime best in the event.

The mark is joint first in Africa with Kudakwashe Chadenga of Zimbabwe who also cleared the same height at the same meet and at the same centre.

The mark moves places him at 5th on the school’s all-time list while he finished ahead of Mayson Conner and Kudakwashe Chadenga, second and third on countback.
