16-year-old Iyeneobong Essien has emerged second place winner at the 2022 Champion of Champions World Golf Championship Invitational in Northern Ireland.

The teenager competed in the 16 to 19 years category between July 26 to 28, 2022 at the Invitational; playing on two challenging courses, the Faldo Course and the Castle Hume Course at the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.

In the women’s 4×100 meters relay final, Nigeria’s squad of Joy Udo-Gabriel, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha ran a spectacular race to set a new African and Nigerian Record of 42.22 seconds to finish 4th on the penultimate day of the World Championships.

Team Nigeria Wins 11th Africa Armwrestling Championships

Team Nigeria has emerged overall winner at the 11th Africa Armwrestling Championships which held at the Indoor Sports Hall of National Stadium, Surulere in Lagos.

Team Nigeria won 27 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze medals at the three-day championship.

Cameroon, Togo, Benin, Madagascar, Senegal, Cote dI’Voire, Guinea Conakry, Somalia and Niger were among other countries that took part in the competition.
