Divine Ejowvokoghene Oduduru Named 2019 USTFCCCA Co-Men’s Track Athlete Of The Year

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named Divine Ejowvokoghene Oduduru, the 2019 Co-Men’s Track Athlete of the Year.

At the NCAA Division 1 Championships concluded in June 2019 in Austin, Texas, Divine Ejowvokoghene Oduduru successfully completed a sprint double, winning the 100 meters and 200 meters titles in scintillating fashion.

Divine Ejowvokoghene Oduduru won the 100 meters in 9.86 for his third sub-10 race of the season. Barely an hour later, the 22 years old delivered another sub-20 in the 200 meters.

Enyimba International FC Wins 2019 NPFL Title

Enyimba International Football Club of Aba have won the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title for the 2019 season.

The club beat Akwa United 3-0 at the Agege Stadium, Lagos to win a record seventh NPFL title, thereby maintaining the club’s reputation as Nigeria’s most successful club (winning the championship in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2015 and 2019).

Winners Of The 6th Nigeria Pitch Awards [2018/2019]

Winners have emerged in the sixth edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards [2018/2019], which took place at a ceremony in Asaba, Delta State.

Shina Philips, President of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, expressed the appreciation of the organisers to the Federation and the Delta State Government.

He said the organizers remained committed to giving Nigerians a transparent and credible award.

In his words:

“We will continue to do what is right because we believe our players need to be motivated by a transparent and credible reward system which will see them earn the respect of everyone in the football community.”

Ejowvokoghene Divine Oduduru 9.86

Ejowvokoghene Divine Oduduru has won the 100 meters race at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championships in 9.86 seconds.

Ejowvokoghene Divine Oduduru is now officially the second fastest African ever just behind his compatriot and legend Olusoji Fasuba (9.85 seconds 13 years ago in Doha).

About 45 minutes after his heroics in the 100 meters, Oduduru won the 200 meters in 19.73 seconds, both times wind-legal.

Emmanuel Gyan Gwom & Deborah Gwom Win 2019 Okpekpe Race [Nigerian Category]

Emmanuel Gyan Gwom and Deborah Gwom have won the Nigerian category of the 2019 Okpekpe Race in the male and female categories respectively.

Emmanuel Gyan Gwom was the first Nigerian runner with a time of 31.42 seconds, while his wife Deborah won the female category.

Deborah had won all the previous editions in this category.

Victor Osimhen Scores Fastest Goal In The History Of The Belgian League

20-year-old Victor Osimhen has set a new record by scoring the fastest goal in the history of the Belgian First Division A.

It took Osimhen only 8.15 seconds to open the scoring in Sporting Charleroi’s 3-2 loss to Antwerp at the Bosuilstadion (Deurne).
