Winners Of Standard Chartered Nigeria Women In Technology Incubator Project [3rd Cohort]

Standard Chartered Nigeria has announced five (5) winners of the third edition of its Women in Technology Incubator programme (SC-WITI) in Nigeria.

Chief Executive Officer, Lamin Manjang announced the winners from the 3rd cohort of the program at the graduation ceremony in Lagos on February 4, 2022.

This year’s winners are: Oluwadamilola Soyombo (Founder of Skooqs); Bolarinwa Kemisola (Founder of Nextwear Technology); Adegbite Adenike ((Founder, The Trillionbucks Company); Zita Agwunobi (Founder/CEO of Iverify) and Wunmi Akinsola (Founder of Fashtracker’).

Nigeria Re-elected Into AU Peace And Security Council (AUPSC) [2022]

The Federal Republic of Nigeria has been re-elected into the African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) to represent the West African region, the Nigerian embassy in Ethiopia said in a press release.

Nigeria will sit in the council for another three years (2022-2025).

The West African country had 44 votes in the first round to secure the statutory two-thirds votes required to win the election.

Jubril Dokun Wins Third Edition Of InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition

Jubril Dokun, a 16-year-old student of Brainfield College, Salolo, Lagos State, has emerged winner of the third edition of the InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition held on February 5, 2022.

Contesting with over 18,000 students from various secondary schools in Nigeria, Jubril Dokun won the 13-week educational show (run on both terrestrial and domestic television stations) to clinch the first prize of 7.5 million in scholarships, among other prizes.

Eleven Nigerians Selected Into African #YouTubeBlackVoices Creator Class Of 2022

Eleven (11) Nigerians have been selected into the African #YouTubeBlackVoices Creator Class of 2022.

YouTube is announcing that 26 talented African creators will join the global Black Voices Creator Class of 2022. They are selected as part of 133 creators from around the world and across various niches. Including 40 from US and Canada, 35 from Brazil, and 34 from the United Kingdom. They will receive access to resources such as partner support and seed funding to help them grow on YouTube.

The 26 African YouTube creators and grantees come from Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
