NSCDC Wins ITTF 2022 African Club Championship (Women Category)

Egypt’s ENPPI Club and Nigeria’s NSCDC have emerged winners of the ITTF 2022 African Club Championships’ in the men and women categories respectively.

The championship finalized on on May 25, 2022, is one of the three events billed for the table tennis festival at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Chinecherem Nnamdi Prosper Sets New Records In Men’s Javelin Throw At 2022 NCAA West Regionals

Chinecherem Nnamdi Prosper has set new records in the men’s javelin throw at the 2022 NCAA West Regionals with a 81.22 meters throw.

His throw sets a new school record as well as a new national record (NR) as he broke Pius Bazighe’s previous NR set in 1999, improving it by 14 cm.

Chima Williams Named Winner Of 2022 Goldman Environmental Prize

Chima Williams, the Executive Director of Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth Nigeria (ERA/FoEN), has been named a winner of the 2022 Goldman Environmental Prize among seven winners.

Other winners of the prize include Niwat Roykaew (Thailand), Marjan Minnessma (the Netherlands); Juliet Vincent (Australia); Nalleli Cobo (United States); Alex Luciatante, and Alexandra Narvaez (Ecuador).

The Goldman Prize is awarded annually to environmental heroes from each of the world’s six inhabited continental regions.

Ese Brume Jumped 6.90 Meters To Win Women’s Long Jump Event At Puerto Rico International Classic 2022

Ese Brume has jumped 6.90 meters (3.5) to win the women’s long jump event at the Puerto Rico International Classic 2022.

She also recorded jumps of 6.81 meters (2.1) and a season best of 6.78 meters while finishing ahead of Quanesha Burks who jumped 6.65 meters (1.3) and Tiffany Flynn with 6.54 meters (0.7).

The Puerto Rico International Athletics Classic is a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting, which held at the Francisco Montaner Stadium in Ponce.

Esther Isa Wins Women’s Long Jump & Triple Jump At 2022 C-USA Outdoor Championships

Esther Isa has leapt a personal best (PB) of 6.39 meters (0.7) to win the women’s long jump at the C-USA Outdoor Championships in San Antonio, Texas.

Her personal best set a stadium record on her sixth and final jump.

She finished ahead of Ingeborg Gruenwald who took 2nd with 6.35 meters and Marquesha Myers at 6.21 meters for 3rd.

She won another gold medal in stadium-record setting fashion as she jumped a personal best 13.37 meters (43-10.50) in the triple jump for the win.

Esther Isa won both the triple jump and long jump at this year’s outdoor championships.

Nzubechi Grace Nwokocha Wins 100 & 200 Meters Race Events At 2022 Big South Championships

21-year-old Nzubechi Grace Nwokocha has won the 100 and 200 meters race events at the 2022 Big South Championships in High Point, N.C.

The NC A & T freshman, won the 100 meters event in 11.13 seconds (2.8) and doubling up with a Meet Record (MR) of 22.75 seconds.

In the 100 meters, she finished ahead of her teammate Symone Darius who clocked a time of 11.25 seconds and Amira Aduma in 11.59 seconds.

In total, she received three conference championship Gold medals, contributing a leg to her school, NC A&T’s win over the 4×100 meters in 43.19 seconds.
