Tobiloba Amusan Wins 2019 ISTAF IAAF 100 Meters Hurdles In Berlin

Tobiloba Amusan has ran 12.51 seconds to win the 100 meters hurdles at the ISTAF IAAF meeting at the Olympia Stadion (Olympic stadium) in Berlin, Germany.

Tobiloba Amusan won the ISTAF Berlin women’s 100m hurdles ahead of Christina Clemons from the USA (12.69 seconds) and Nadine Visser from the Netherland (12.72 seconds) on the 1st of September, 2019.

Tobiloba’s run of  12.51 seconds, is her second-fastest time of all time.

Nigeria Finishes Second At 12th All-Africa Games

Team Nigeria have emerged with a second place finish at the 12th All-Africa Games in Rabat with a total of 121 medals, made up of 44 gold, 30 silver and 47 bronze.

Egypt got a total of 264 medals made up of 99 gold, 96 silver and 69 bronze to finish top, a position the North African country had maintained in almost all editions of the Games except that of Abuja 2003, when Nigeria topped, and in 1978 when they withdrew midway owing to perceived hostility with Algeria.

South Africa was third with 87 medals comprising of 36 gold, 26 silver and 25 bronze medals.

Agaranwa Pal Ezinne Emerges Overall Best Graduating Female At Accra Institute Of Technology, Ghana

Agaranwa Pal Ezinne, has emerged the overall best graduating female student with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from the Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), Ghana.

Agaranwa Pal Ezinne, who was part of the graduation class of 2019, beat her colleagues with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.97.

The 14th graduation ceremony is the fifth time a Nigerian student would emerge as the overall best graduating student of the university both in the female and male categories.

Winners Of Aimee’s Library Recreational Centre 2019 Spelling Bee Competition

Nine-year-old Osariemen Omosigho has emerged winner in the Junior category of Aimee’s Library Recreational Centre 2019 Spelling Bee competition, while 10-year-old Olumide Daniel Ojo emerged winner over 79 others to win the Senior category.

The competition, in its second season, had over 100 pupils in the junior category compete for the star prize, while the senior category had 80 persons.

The convener, Spelling Bee & Games Board Games Competition, Amy Afebuame, said the programme was borne out of passion to create healthy competition among children between the ages of seven and 13.

The team defeated Rivers Angels 2-0 at the end of the regulation time to secure the victory for the first time.

Kehinde Sowole and Deborah Sowole have achieved top grades to emerge among the best ever results from Ark Globe Academy in the United Kingdom General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examinations.

16-year-old identical twins Kehinde and Deborah Sowole achieved top grades, including a raft of eights in their exam, which is the equivalent of WAEC in Nigeria.

Alao-Akala Tabitha, Nimatallahi Abdulkadri and Lawal Balikis have won the third place in the International Projects category at the 34th Edition of China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC) in Macao, China.

Alao-Akala Tabitha, Nimatallahi Abdulkadri and Lawal Balikis, students of Doregos Private Academy, Ipaja, Lagos, represented Nigeria with their innovative submissions.

The contest (CASTIC), which had 52 countries participating and over 150 students in attendance, lasted for seven days.
