Ibrahim Adedeji Alimi, a graduate of mechanical engineering of the Faculty of Engineering had a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.98 in a 5.0 grading system.

Team DC Solar Element Stove Wins Inaugural Nigerian Content Science And Technology Innovation Challenge (STIC)

Team DC Solar Element Stove has emerged winner of the inaugural Nigerian Content Science and Technology Innovation Challenge (STIC).

Team DC Solar Element Stove represented by Victoria Effiong and Paul Agbor of Cross River University of Technology, (CRUTECH), produced a solar element stove to be used for renewable and cheaper alternative cooking.

For the feat, Team DC Solar receives the grand prize of ₦10 million.

Team Quester of the University of Jos, came second with a Hydroponic system of growing food indoors without soil and received ₦4 million while Team Ted of the Federal University, Makurdi came third with a noiseless, fuel-less electric generator to provide alternate power source, and went home with ₦1.5 million.

Maduka Okoye Voted Best Player Of The Season At Sparta Rotterdam [2020/2021]

Maduka Okoye has been voted the best player of the 2020/2021 season at Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie, the top flight of Dutch professional football.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper featured in 28 league matches for Sparta Rotterdam and had 10 clean sheets with a 68% save rate. He also saved one of the three penalties that he faced and made just two errors leading to a goal throughout the season.

Chiamaka Onwuka Wins 2021 African Organisation For Standardisation (ARSO) Essay Competition [Nigeria]

Chiamaka Onwuka has emerged the national winner of the 2021 African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) essay competition [Nigeria].

A statement from the office of the Director General, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Mallam Farouk Salim named the winners as Chiamaka Onwuka of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) who came tops with 78.08 percent; in second position, Odu Sunday Bancha of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) with 77.94 percent and in third position, Chijoke Kennedy of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) with 77.68 percent.

The 2021 ARSO annual essay competition was themed: “The The Role of Standardisation in Promoting, Arts, Culture and Heritage – The Creative Economy in Africa”.
