Team Schrodinger Energy Of Bayero University Kano Emerge Third In Ericsson Innovation Awards 2022

Team Schrodinger Energy of Bayero University Kano, Nigeria has emerged as third place winner in the Ericsson Innovation Awards 2022.

REINLIGHT by Team Schrodinger Energy is a portable water disinfection system which reduces numerous health risks and is operable in areas that lack electricity.

The Team receives a cash prize of 5,000 EUR.

Open to university students of all ages based anywhere on earth, the Ericsson Innovation Awards recognize revolutionary concepts that utilize technology to solve global challenges.

Team Benoit of the University of Indonesia, Indonesia emerged overall winner for their work “PARASOL”, which is a flexible and accessible perovskite-based solar PV that uses plastic waste.

According to Team Schrodinger Energy said:

With more than 1,300 students from universities around the world participating, the theme of this year’s EIA, was Impact Our Sustainable Future. Entrants were asked to propose solutions and create technological products and solutions to tackle challenges such as food waste, water purity, and renewable energy sources. The competition concluded at the Ericsson headquarters in Kista, Sweden, in December after more than six months of proposal development, mentorship from Ericsson solution and business professionals, and analysis. More than EUR 50,000 in prizes were distributed.
