Winners have emerged at the 7th Annual BusinessDay Banks’ and Other Financial institutions (BAFI) awards, which held at the Lagos Continental Hotel on the 19th October 2019.

BAFI recognises and celebrates outstanding performance in Nigeria’s financial services industry. Winners of the Judges ‘Award category have been adjudged to have demonstrated that they have brought revolutionary benefits to the financial services industry in Nigeria.

Nominations for the BAFI Awards go through a rigorous review processes before finalists are selected.

  • The Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS) received special recognition for its contribution to the financial services industry, by winning the Continental Leader in Post-trade and Custody Services award.
  • Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) won the meritorious award as Micro finance Bank of the Year 2019, which accounts for 24 percent of total Microfinance credit in Nigeria
  • Zenith Bank Plc emerged Bank of the year for its banking leadership, growth capacity, world-class risk management structure, excellent customer service.
  • Zenith Bank Plc won the Best Bank in Retail Banking award.
  • Kennedy Uzoka, Group Managing Director/CEO, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc was awarded BAFI 2019 Bank CEO of the year for his visionary leadership.
  • First Bank of Nigeria Holdings (FBNH) emerged as Bank Holding Company of the second year running.
  • Cititrust Holdings Plc won the Investment Holding company of the Year award.
  • DLM Advisory partner won Deal Advisor of the year.
  • Zedcrest Capital won the Diversified Financial Services Group of the year award.
  • Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria Ltd won both the Merchant Bank of the year award and Debt Arranger of the Year award.
  • Coronation Merchant Bank won Investment Bank of the year for second time since 2018.
  • Page Financials won the Most Innovative Consumer Lender and Consumer Finance Brand of the Year awards.
  • NIRSAL won the Outstanding Development Finance Institution Award.
