Team Native Wins Good Governance Hackathon Competition 2020

Team Native led by Somto Momah has emerged winner of the 2020 Good Governance Hackathon Competition clinching the star prize of $10,000.

Other winners include: Team Sight, which came second with $6,000 prize, while Team Healthcare for All came third with $4,000.

The event, which held in Lagos was sponsored by the World Bank, the European Union, United Kingdom Aid (UKAID) KOICA, SEEFOR Project and Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation in collaboration with Co Creative Hub.

SmartAgro Research Cluster Develop Animal Tracking Device Named ‘NimTrack’

SmartAgro Research Cluster, a team of Nigerian researchers have developed software application solution code-named ‘NimTrack’, which is capable of tracking animal movement.

According to the researchers, the app (NimTrack) was developed in such a way that if embraced and deployed, it might signal the dead end of repeated herders/farmers crises.

NimTrack is the product of a research group, The SmartAgro Research Cluster made up of scientists from the Department of Computer Science, Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, Ogun State, in collaboration with researchers from other Nigerian universities.

Anambra State Emerge Double Winners In The 2020 Chuma Anosike Cup Cricket Championship

Anambra State has emerged double winners in the male and female categories of the 2020 Chuma Anosike Cup Cricket Championship concluded at St. Paul’s University, Awka, on the 15th of March 2020.

Anambra State’s male cricket team, captained by Somto Okafor, beat Enugu State, represented by University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC), to lift the 10th edition of the championship trophy in the male category.
