Dr. Mahmoud Bukar Maina has won the 2018 Champions of Science Storytelling Challenge (Young African Scientists in Europe, YASE Edition) launched and organised by Johnson & Johnson Innovation.

Dr. Mahmoud Bukar Maina, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Biochemistry) at the University of Sussex, Sussex Neuroscience studying neurodegeneration, won the 2018 Champions of Science Storytelling Challenge (YASE Edition) submitting notes on his research, community work and resulting positive impact in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) emerge overall winner of the 2018 edition of the annual Ships & Ports Maritime Cup Competition.

NPA defeated Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) 4-1 to lift the trophy for the first time since the competition started in 2009.

Ugenyi Igbokwe Gets Special Award In Rosatom Atoms Empowering Africa Youth Video Competition [2018]

Teams from Nigeria (Ugenyi Igbokwe), South Africa, and Tanzania have been selected and awarded topmost prizes of the Atoms Empowering Africa youth video competition organised by Russian state atomic energy corporation Rosatom.

The award, which was decided by the public and independent jury through votes cast, selected four teams from South Africa, Nigeria and Tanzania who received the highest number of votes from both the jury and the public.

3 Nigerian Journalists Win At 2018 West Africa Media Excellence Awards

Three Nigerian journalists have emerged winners of their categories at the West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards held in Accra.

The Nigerian contingent clinched three of the final prizes in Investigative Reporting, Business and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Anthony Akaeze of Tell and the International Centre for Investigative Reporting won the Investigative Reporting while Victor Ekwealor and Adam Alqali emerged winners in the Business and SDGs category respectively.
